Here is the translation of your article, keeping the tone consistent with your previous brand stories - innovative, transparent, and slightly witty.
At Catermat, we figured that if we can feed your corporate events, we should also try "feeding" our own company with electricity. And not just any power - clean, green energy.
You might wonder why a catering company is getting into the energy sector. The reason is simple: it’s smart and responsible. Not only are we reducing our carbon footprint, but we are also gaining energy independence. In an era of volatile energy prices, having our own source provides stability and predictable costs. In the long run, these savings allow us to reinvest where it matters most: the quality of our services.
Last but not least, it’s an investment in our brand. It shows that we are a modern company unafraid of innovation and focused on the future.
Our goal is clear: to cover 30% of our consumption through renewable sources. To achieve this, we leased land in Western Bohemia and built three photovoltaic shelters with a total capacity of 30 kWp.
The best part? Thanks to energy sharing, we send the power we generate directly to Prague. Think of it as our own "energy catering." The sun in Western Bohemia "cooks" the electricity, and we "deliver" it to Prague. Only this time, there are no vans or boxes. Everything travels through the grid.
We’ll admit, a project like this isn't cheap. But did you know there are programs designed to help? We utilized an interest-free loan from the National Development Bank (Národní rozvojová banka) and received support from the European Regional Development Fund.
Specifically, we took part in the program titled "Photovoltaic Systems with/without Accumulation (PVS) – Operational Programme Technologies and Applications for Competitiveness 2021–2027."
We are proving that even a catering company can think green. The future isn't just about what we serve, but how we do it. And we’re doing it with the sun at our backs.
Our solar adventure is just beginning. Stay tuned. We’ll keep you updated on our progress!
